First Counselling Session (In Person & Online):
In your first counselling session you’ll share what’s bringing you to counselling and any challenges you’re facing. Together, we’ll explore your goals and what you hope to achieve through counselling. I’ll explain confidentiality and how your privacy is protected during all counselling sessions, and we’ll also consider any potential risks so you feel informed and empowered. You’ll have the opportunity to ask any questions that you may have about the counselling process. My aim is for you to feel heard, respected, and supported as you begin your counselling journey.
You can also read more about what happens in
What Happens in a Counselling Session? in my blog.
- At the start of your first session, we’ll do a brief check of sound and video to make sure everything is working smoothly.
- You’ll need a quiet, private space where you can talk openly and feel comfortable.
- We’ll discuss what to do if the connection drops and how to manage any interruptions.
- I’ll explain how confidentiality and privacy are maintained during online sessions.
- You can share any questions or concerns about working online before we begin.
